LYRIC VIDEO WORKFLOW

How to make a lyric video that stays in sync

A practical lyric video workflow: sync the words, choose portrait or landscape, keep subtitles readable and check the final render.

Before you make a lyric video

Lyric video creation in the current iOS app requires a completed full AI Auto-Sync song and your own background image. AI provides line timing; word or group karaoke timings are created manually for ASS / Enhanced LRC export.

Begin with accurate timing

Import your audio and the exact sung lyrics. Repeated choruses each require their own time position. Tap each line manually in the free browser editor, or make an editable AI first pass in the LyricTap iOS app. Listen through the entire track to catch misaligned lines before designing the video.

Choose a shape for your destination

  • Portrait: a good starting point for TikTok, Reels and vertical Shorts.
  • Landscape: commonly used for standard YouTube videos.
  • Keep long lines readable and away from interface overlays.
  • Use sufficient contrast against the background image.
  • Review the generated video on a phone screen, not only a desktop monitor.

Export and review

  1. Check the intro, chorus, instrumental break and outro in the final render.
  2. Look for clipped text and timing that changes in repeated sections.
  3. Verify the publication rights for your song, lyrics and visuals.
  4. Add a descriptive title and summary so the finished post is understandable without audio.

Browser tool versus iOS video export

The free web studio exports timed LRC, SRT and TXT files. It does not render MP4. For portrait and landscape lyric videos, use the LyricTap iPhone or iPad app. Styles and export options may differ by app version.
