Frequently asked questions

What is LyricTap? Does it support iPad?

LyricTap is a local-music lyric tool for iPhone and iPad. Edit and sync lyrics, export LRC / SRT subtitles, create line-by-line lyric videos, or manually time karaoke subtitles. Use music and lyrics you own or have permission to use. LyricTap does not provide song downloads.

How do I create synchronized lyrics?

Import local music, then paste lyrics or import a lyric file. Time each line manually for free, or sign in and use one AI Auto-Sync credit for a full line timeline, separated vocals, and instrumentals. AI results can contain errors. Listen and adjust the text and line timings.

Why did AI lyric sync fail? Can it recognize instrumental or karaoke tracks?

AI Auto-Sync needs a recording with audible lead vocals. Instrumental, custom backing-track, and karaoke versions without lead vocals cannot be recognized or automatically timed. Pasting lyrics alone does not tell the AI when lines are sung in an instrumental. Please upload the version with lead vocals and try again. You can still time lyrics manually for free and export LRC / SRT for instrumentals. Failed AI tasks do not consume a credit. If the recording has audible vocals but recognition fails, contact support.

Why do the player and videos show whole lines after manual timing?

In the latest version, the player highlights whole lines and lyric videos change line by line. They do not show word-by-word color sweeps. Manual karaoke timings are used only for ASS / Enhanced LRC subtitle export. Older versions may look different; check your app version first.

How do I manually create karaoke subtitles?

Save synced lyrics, open Karaoke Timing from the player, and tap during playback to mark word or group starts. Confirm the line ending and check the timings, then export ASS or Enhanced LRC. Word timings come only from your taps; AI does not supply karaoke word timings. View the effect in a compatible external player or video editor. Format support varies.

How do I export LRC, SRT, or TXT?

Open Export after saving synced lyrics. LRC is for players that support synced lyrics, SRT is for line subtitles, and TXT copies the lyric text. Regular export does not require karaoke timing. Manual lyric editing and subtitle export use no AI credits.

How do I make a lyric video? Does it cost another credit?

The song must first complete a full AI Auto-Sync task to use lyric videos. Select a background image, choose Editorial, Cinema, or Type, and set 9:16 portrait or 16:9 landscape. Preview and export an MP4. Videos display whole lines and do not require word timings. Exporting that song's videos or saving its vocals and instrumentals uses no additional AI credits.

What if video creation or saving to Photos fails?

Keep LyricTap in the foreground during export. Check that the source audio is available, a background is selected, and your device has free space. Allow the relevant Photos permission to save a video; change it in system settings if denied. If an MP4 is already ready, retry saving or use Share to save to Files without rerunning AI. Contact support with the displayed error if it continues.

What does AI upload? Can I edit manually if I decline?

AI needs internet access and uploads the task's audio, lyrics, and language only with your consent. Replicate separates tracks, and Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (Qwen) recognizes vocal lyrics and timing. LyricTap aligns pasted lyrics on its server. Cancelling uploads nothing, creates no task, and uses no credits. Manual editing and subtitle export remain available. See the privacy policy for details.

Can I leave the app after submitting a task?

Yes, after uploading finishes and the task is successfully submitted. The server continues processing. Reopen LyricTap and check Tasks; results sync when a connection is available. Processing time depends on song length and service load. Keep the app in the foreground for video creation and track downloads.

Why must I wait before previewing or saving stems?

Vocals and instrumentals must finish downloading to the device first. Keep LyricTap open and connected until progress completes, then preview, save to the library, or export. LyricTap assigns server audio and temporary tracks a 24-hour expiry, and timelines up to 30 days, with scheduled cleanup. Save what you need promptly.

How do I restore credits? Is a credit used when a task fails?

Sign in to LyricTap with the same Apple account and check your balance or use Restore on Account. Unused credits are linked to your LyricTap account. Used credits cannot be restored. A full AI task uses one credit only after it succeeds. Check Tasks if it fails, and contact support with the approximate time if the balance looks wrong. Apple shows current prices in the app.

How do I delete my account or local music?

Request deletion of your server account, unused credits, and cloud task data from Account. Wait for active AI tasks to finish first. Delete local songs, artwork, and lyrics separately in the library. Copies shared to other apps or saved to Photos or Files must be deleted there separately.
